Health and Wellbeing in the Workplace Seminar

Health Matters in association with Valentine Occupational Health and Real People HR hosted a seminar in Real People HR's offices in London to talk about Health and Wellbeing in the Work place.

The day was very well attended with many of the delegates giving very positive feedback and praise for the presentations.  There were three presentations given on the day.  These were:

Real People regarding effective health and wellbeing strategies – This looked at what companies wanted to achieve from implementing a health and wellbeing strategy and how do you get the employees involved and motivated.  Other areas touched on were how do you support your employees from a HSE, disability and benefits point of view.  Please click the link to view the presentation

Valentine Occupational Health on how to make an effective OH referral – This presentation discussed what an occupational health referral is, how to make one efficiently and effectively from the point of view of what the employer and employee needs to do and what the occupational health practitioner would want to see.  The role of the occupational health practitioner was also defined including their scope and limitations.  One area that was discussed in more detail was what happens once the report has been received and definitions reasonable adjustments.  Please click link to view presentation

Health Matters on Understanding your employee assistance programme – Tania focused on the breadth and depth of an employee assistance programme.  Typically we find that employers understand what an employee assistance programme does in respect of clinical support such as telephone and face to face counseling support but many are unaware of the sheer scope of help that is available.  This included areas such as but not limited to childcare, elder care and citizens advice bureau information.  Tania regaled the audience with some very interesting stories and anecdotes from her time in the industry.

Should you wish to find out more about the topics covered above and/or would like to be included on our mailing list for further events then please feel free to contact Health Matters or myself.
