Introducing Dave Dawson…

Dave has just joined Health Matters as an Employee Benefits Consultant and he has written a piece that he wanted to share with you about his first few weeks.  Here it is:

Being a new starter at Health Matters.

I want to explain how it feels to be a newbie to Health Matters, first of all I have to say joining this company was like joining a second family, every person within the organisation is so welcoming and friendly they’ll go out of their way to help you and will spare as much time with them as you need. There is a definite buzz around the office, and you can tell within 5 minutes that every single person takes pride in their role.

During my induction it was clear to me where I would sit within the organisation, what was expected of me and the way in which this was explained was not daunting at all as so often it can be the case on day one of a new role. The training plan was clear and concise and constructed in a way to get the most out of me in my first two weeks.
In regard to the training, Health Matters work with you and adapt the plan depending on your level of knowledge and what you believe would help you to develop/succeed.

I can safely say it has quickly become apparent that Health Matters strongly believe in their five pillars sticking by these within their company ethos/practices, which is honest and refreshing. If you are wondering what I mean by the 5 pillars let me explain;

  • Consultancy – we support our clients with specialist consultative advice
  • Reassurance – we provide piece of mind with an honest open approach to our advice
  • Efficiency – Health Matters elevates each employee so that they can make a difference
  • Partnership – We like to build lasting, healthy relationships that are given every opportunity to succeed
  • Ambition – we always offer innovative and forward thinking services

Coming to the end of week two I still wake up daily looking forward to the day ahead which is refreshing. I have a clear daily action plan and I know that there is somebody at the end of the phone or a teams call away should I have any questions. I feel I have been given all of the tools required to have in depth consultative discussions with our clients and I have no misconceptions that I have been set up to succeed within and for Health Matters.

Have I enjoyed my first two weeks with the company? Absolutely
Would I recommend working for Health Matters? Absolutely
Do I see myself at Health Matters in 5yrs time? Absolutely
