The Sickness and Absence review

13.12.2011

The Sickness and Absence review conducted by Dame Carol Black and ex-British Chamber of Commerce Director General, David Frost, was published in November.

This was launched to look at the current sickness benefits system. The review included how this works, the flaws and recommendations on how to improve it. The findings are being looked at by the department of Work and Pensions and they will look at how and what they wish to implement and to follow up.

The report will potentially affect the group risk market and this will be closely watched by the insurers and advisers alike. Health Matters will be following the issue with great interest.
