International Insurer Interglobal is Purchased by Aetna
InterGlobal press release:
"We are pleased to announce that Aetna has agreed to acquire InterGlobal as part of their international expansion strategy. As you may know, Aetna is a diversified health care benefits company serving approximately 44 million members worldwide, and the third largest company of its kind in the United States.
The combination of InterGlobal and Aetna’s international businesses will provide further strength and commitment to the International Private Medical Insurance sector. Each organisation brings complementary strengths and expertise.
InterGlobal will complement Aetna’s strong presence in the large multi-national customer segment, its health management solutions and global direct-settlement network of over 100,000 health care providers, and we believe that together we can bring increased value to you and your clients.
What does this mean?
The planned acquisition will have no immediate impact on the products or services that InterGlobal or its local insurance partners currently provide to our members. You and your clients will continue to receive the same excellent care and attention that InterGlobal has a reputation for providing.
The acquisition is expected to close in the first half of 2014 subject to regulatory approvals. The integration will be carefully coordinated to help ensure a seamless transition and we will keep you informed as we progress. We believe that the combination of our two businesses will have a positive impact for you and your clients."
