EAPs take top spot on leaderboard of core healthcare benefits

According to the Employee Benefits Healthcare Research 2011, EAPs are ranked top with 73% of organisations offering them to some or all staff as a core benefit.

According to the report, "EAPs have been growing steadily in popularity since 2002, when they were offered on a core basis by 23% of respondents. In 2007, this figure had risen 48% and in 2010 it had reached 69%."

Outsourced occupational health departments (65%), workstation health audits (63%) and private medical insurance for all employees (50%) are also offered to some or all staff as a core benefit and are ranked alongside EAPs in this study.
